A Disney Vacation Stitch Fix is just what you need before heading to hang with the mouse! Check out these tips for getting a great fix.
As you may know, I’m heading to Walt Disney World very soon to run the runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon and spend a few days with my husband at the happiest place on earth. One of my favorite things about taking a trip is deciding what I’ll wear when I’m gone! For this trip, I recruited some help from Stitch Fix to fill my suitcase!
What is Stitch Fix? Stitch Fix is your personal stylist behind your computer screen. Complete a quick questionnaire, schedule a Fix, and voila! Style delivered to your front door. I have been receiving Stitch Fix boxes for almost two years and after a bit of trial and error, I’ve figured out how to make the service work for me!
A Disney Vacation Stitch Fix
I knew I would be pretty busy in the weeks leading up to our trip, so I didn’t want to dedicate a lot of time to in-store shopping and trying on. I pinned some new pieces to my Pinterest board, typed up my note, sent it off to my stylist, and crossed my fingers for the best! I was so excited when I opened up my Stitch Fix box to find all the goodies my stylist had picked out for me. I knew before trying anything on it would be a 5/5 Fix. Because we are headed to WDW in November, these pieces were selected with Florida’s fall in mind!

ONE // Spade & Heart Suki Lace Up Knit Top
This piece is just my style and will be getting a lot of wear. The maroon color is perfect for fall and the knit is not too thick. This top is perfect for the mild falls and winters in Florida (and Texas too!). This will be a nice top to wear in the airport where it’s sure to be a bit chilly!
TWO // TOMS Del Ray Canvas Lace Up Sneakers
I’m a sucker for sneakers. I would be more than happy if I never wore another style of shoes in my life. These TOMS sneakers were selected with long park days in mind. I’m a big fan of TOMS and I was excited to break in these sneakers.
THREE // Market & Spruce Austin Polka Dot & Striped Mixed Material Shirt
I’ve had great luck with other Market & Spruce pieces Stitch Fix has sent me, so I was excited to try out this top. It’s light and loose, perfect to be paired with a jacket for a cool morning that turns into a warm afternoon. I also love the polka dots, selected with Minnie Mouse in mind!
FOUR // Judy Blue Adelene Distressed Girlfriend Jean
Until this Fix, I was unfamiliar with “girlfriend” jeans. I know now they’re cut similarly to boyfriend jeans, but fit more snuggly through the hips and legs. These jeans fit my body type perfectly. I love the way boyfriend jeans look, but my narrow hips have trouble keeping them up. Not the case with these jeans! The distressed quality is a nice change up from my regular jeans too. I can’t wear these to work, but they’re great for a Saturday afternoon.
FIVE // French Grey Adara Brushed Knit Dress
Finally, I requested one date-night dress to be worn to Epcot or Disney Springs. I’ve already tested this dress out for chapel at school. It’s very comfortable and will be perfect for dinner and then heading to a low-key attraction afterwards.

3 Tips for Getting a Great Fix
If you’re new to Stitch Fix, or haven’t figured out how to get exactly what you want, check out my tips for getting a great fix! After almost two years, it’s not a fool-proof system, but my Fixes get better with each shipment!
ONE // Write a great note
Be as specific as possible regarding what you’d like to receive or the details of the event you’re being styled for. Use “like” language as opposed to “dislike” language as (I’ve read) Stitch Fix’s algorithm is designed to filter for things you want as opposed to things you don’t. It’s ok to reference specific pieces — your stylist will try to match it as closely as possible!
Here’s an excerpt of my last note:
I would like comfortable transitional pieces appropriate for November in Florida that could be styled with cute sneakers for long days in the parks or walking through the airport…
My stylist used this information to send pieces that fit that description perfectly. A bonus was that she selected pieces I can wear at home as well.
TWO // Create a Stitch Fix-Exclusive Pinterest board
One of the mistakes I made when first using Stitch Fix (<– use my referral link to sign up!) was not creating a Pinterest board for Stitch Fix. I linked my fashion board that I’d pinned to for years and my stylist wasn’t able to see what I liked as it related specifically to Stitch Fix. Once I created a Stitch Fix Inspiration board, I started receiving pieces that fit my vision much more closely.
THREE // Refresh your Pinterest board
To piggy back off of tip #2, give your board a refresh with each Fix! Spend some time prior to your shipment being styled to pin new pieces that you’re loving and then reference them or similar styles in your note. It’s been my experience that between your style profile and your Pinterest board with specific pieces, your stylist will always do her best to send what you’ve requested!
Question: Have you used Stitch Fix to style you for a special trip or event?

They can send the stylist a link to a Pinterest style board filled with their ideal looks. He or she will then receive five personalized pieces in the mail. They can keep what they like, and return what they don’t — only paying for the items they end up wearing!

Stitch fix is pretty hit or miss. Have you tried Golden Tote? You can pick some of your own pieces too. My stylist for Golden tote was way better than stitch fix. Have fun at Disney!

So tempted to try Stitch Fix! That dress is wicked cute. (I typed “wicked,” realized my Boston was showing, deleted it and typed in “so,” and then felt sad that my Boston wasn’t showing.)

It IS wicked cute! And wicked comfortable too. 🙂
