I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of in shock that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK! Where 2017 go — seriously! Anyway, I just have to make it until 12 p.m. Friday and then I get to spend the better part of the following nine days in pajamas doing whatever I want. #TeacherPerks But first, let’s look back on last week and all the ways I got moving and grooving!
Sunday, 11/5/17:
Today, I ran the RunDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. I was up at 3:15 a.m. to get ready and try to catch the bus. I was so thankful for the time change, but it was still so early! Stay tuned later this week for a complete race recap and review! To sum it up quickly–I thought I was dying throughout the run, but I really did just fine.
Rest day/travel day. Disney’s Magical Express picked us up around 8:45 a.m. and we made it back home to pick Pippa up from the pet hotel by 5 p.m. It was a full day!

Tuesday, 11/7/17:
Tuesday was a slow day for us. Thankfully, I wasn’t headed back to school until Wednesday–I don’t think I would’ve made it through the day otherwise! We slept in, ate breakfast, and cuddled with Pippa who was so glad we were home. It was 11:30 before I really got moving. I did a total body workout with the Jillian Michaels app and realized I was still feeling the race more than I thought I was. Between 180 degree squat jumps and rock’n’roll squats, my quads were on FIY-YAH.
Wednesday was my first day back at work since returning from Disney World. I decided to give myself a bit of a break for the rest of the week and opt for afternoon workouts instead of 4:15 a.m. wake-up calls. After school, I got in a body weight cardio workout and some extra abs. I definitely still prefer mornings, but afternoons are nice change up once in a while!
Thursday, 11/9/17:
After school, I fit in some strength work, but I was still pretty tired. Sometimes you just have to go through the motions to make yourself get it done.

Friday, 11/10/17:
I’m not a fan of Friday afternoon workouts, which is why I usually opt for mornings. At the end of the week, the only think I want to do is plop down on the couch and not move until Sunday night. However, I forced myself to get in another quick strength workout before succumbing to the backed up Real Housewives episodes on my DVR.
Saturday, 11/11/17:
It was so nice to sleep in Saturday and not have to get up at the crack of dawn for a long run. I sat on the couch drinking tea with my husband until 9:30 and then squeezed in body weight cardio and abs, as well as a little bit of foam rolling. Later in the day, we got in a second workout fighting the crowds at the grocery store. It seems the hustle and bustle has begun!

Those early wake-up times for Disney races are brutal! I’ve only done one WDW half but after the cluster that was getting to the start line, I don’t think I’d want to do one again. I’m looking forward to your recap.

Congrats on your race! I have never done a Disney race. That’s great that you get a full 9 days off. We do not get that long of a Thanksgiving break only 2 days off

Congrats again on your race! I do love sleeping in on a Saturday morning every now and then though. The off season does have it’s perks!

I am so excited to hear all about your first Disney race! Now you need to take some rest days, you deserve it!
Ps, that is nice that you got to take an extra day off before going back to work. I bet your legs thanked you for it!

Aren’t those early wakeup calls required for Disney races insane? I love the coffee mug. I always get a Disney mug each time we visit. I can’t wait to hear the details of your race! Thanks for linking.

I enjoyed the Disneyland races because the alarm didn’t go off as early as it does for WDW. I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving break. With my racecation last weekend, and shortened week, the holiday snuck up on me.

I’ll have to keep my eyes open for the Disney report 😉 Hope it went well!
