Hey, friends! Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a fantastic week, a relaxing weekend, and are looking forward to tackling what’s coming up next. I have a teacher work day tomorrow, so that means a lot of meetings and a lot of sitting. For that reason, I’ll be doing my best to get my movement in early in the day while making sure I drink plenty of water! I have a terrible habit of NOT drinking enough water in meetings so I don’t have to leave every 20 minutes… But by the end of the day I end up dehydrated and feeling horrible! I paint myself into a lose-lose situation.
Anyway, I’m wrapping up the week, like I always do with a recap of last week’s workouts. Check it out and let me know how you stayed active in the last week!
Sunday, 4/8/18:
I had an awesome Sunday Runday that covered about 5 miles. My average pace came in around 9:50, but it was harder than I anticipated it would be! I’m pretty sure that’s because I didn’t prioritize hydration in the previous days the way I should have.
Monday, 4/9/18:
Monday, as always, was the beginning of another week and for me, that meant a total body workout. It was the same total body workout I’d done the week before, so this time I was more familiar with the moves. That’s always a nice little confidence boost for an early Monday morning.
Tuesday, 4/10/18:
Tuesday was booty day and it utilized my various resistance bands 100 percent. By the end, the bands were more tired than I was and kept rolling up and slipping off. I was tired of dealing with them and almost slingshotted them across the room by the end. However, I refrained and did not. 🙂 *happy thoughts, happy thoughts*

I had planned and hoped for an afternoon run, but it became clear to me as the day drug on that it just wasn’t going to happen. I crossed my fingers that I could make the tempo run I’d planned for Wednesday.
Wednesday, 4/11/18:
SPOILER ALERT: There was no tempo run on Wednesday. It was just a busy, exhausting week and unfortunately, something had to give.
But I was able to get my morning workout in. It was a cardio and core focused workout that utilized sliders. Have you used sliders in your workouts before? They can really ratchet things up to the next level!
Thursday, 4/12/18:
Rest day! I needed it. I was flat exhausted.

Friday, 4/13/18:
Ooh, Friday the 13th! Are you superstitous? I’m not. It’s just another day and I treated it as such. Before school, I crushed a “AAA” workout that hit upper body, abs, and booty. It was a nice way to start the day and had me feeling strong at the end! Throughout the day, the wind got up to a ridiculous 50 mph and things were not boding well for my 5k the next morning. Nevertheless, I headed over to packet pickup after school with plans to show up the next morning.
Saturday, 4/14/18:
And wouldn’t you know it, everything Saturday morning was just great! The wind was blowing just lightly and at 47 degrees, it was a comfortable run. I cranked up my music and before I knew it, crossed the finish line at about 27:30. My Garmin registered 3.04 miles, but I was greeted with a box of Girl Scout cookies at the finish so all was well. I hung around for a few minutes and learned I’d come in 15th female, but no AG win. The brackets were broken up 20-29, 30-39, etc. So had it been broken 25-29 I might’ve done really well! Honestly, I didn’t care enough to investigate because I was ready for brunch. LOL.
Headed home, rinsed off super fast, then went out for pancakes with my husband before hitting Home Depot and Target.
And that was my week! How was yours? In case you missed anything on the blog last week, you can get caught up now! On Monday, I shared my favorite products for a simple skincare routine. Wednesday held the fourth installment in my Habits of Longterm Health series and it was all about setting priorities! Friday, I put on my teacher hat and shared lowdown on apostrophes in Writing With Style: Apostrophes 101. If you ever find yourself wondering when and how the heck to use apostrophes, book mark that one!
On a separate note, I’m two weeks into my latest strength program and loving every workout! So much, in fact, that I’m hosting a challenge group for people who want to do it along with me. It begins April 23 and I’d love to have YOU join me! If you want more info, or know someone who might be interested, reach out to me and I’ll tell you all about it!

At CrossFit, I used sliders this week for those crocodile walks! Yikes! It was hard
I didn’t see your post on Apostrophes but can I thank you for writing that? It makes me absolutely crazy to see the misplaced apostrophes! Two bloggers I follow, who are very popular bloggers, make this mistake all the time. Hello, ‘s denotes possession not plurals…

How cool to get a box of girl scout cookies for finishing a race!! I’d love that! Congratulations on a speedy race. I’ve used sliders before and wow, do they work your core!

Great job on your race! I’d say girl scout cookies are a win! I hate when races do the large age group opposed to the 5 years.

Great job on your workouts this week and congrats on your race this weekend!

Great job with all of your workouts! 80 day obsession? I want to start that (once again when I get a little bit of free time?) How do you feel mixing that with running?
Lesley says
That’s awesome that you got a box of Girl Scout cookies after the race. I did a race that gave out Nothing Bundt cakes bundtinis, and it was delicious!

It’s commas I have a problem with. Sometimes I read back over what I wrote and think, why the heck did I put a comma there?! LOL
Great workouts this week. Are you doing the Bikini Series this year?
