Surprise! Today’s post is coming to you from LIVE from New York! Or at least somewhere between Texas and New York depending on when you read it. I’m attending a conference for work and visiting the big city for the first time in my life. I’m excited to visit NYC, but I’m going to try and stick to my typical routine as long as possible. I feel like I just found my “summertime groove” last week!
Sunday, 6/10/18:
Rest day. Sunday afternoon, I headed home to Smalltown USA to spend some time with my family. My step mom’s dad passed away last week, so I needed to be present with them.
I also learned that my step dad’s dad had been bitten by a rattlesnake late Saturday night. (He’s ok now, after 14+ vials of antivenom.) Needless to say, it was a kind of crazy couple of days.
Monday, 6/11/18:
Monday morning was the funeral, but I made an effort to try and stick to my mostly-normal routine by getting up early for a workout with my mom. She is working her way through the same program I am, so we did a Phase 3 workout (she’s in Phase 2) so I could show her what’s in store for her in the next few weeks!
Tuesday, 6/12/18:
Tuesday was back to normal, so I did my normal cardio flow workout. I’m ready to retire that one… But I’ve got two more days of it left!

Wednesday, 6/13/18:
I was pretty lazy Wednesday morning and didn’t get moving as quickly as I wanted to. Even still, the leg day DOMS were so real this week. I found myself hobbling around Target on Thursday with serious post-sumo squat soreness.😬
Thursday, 6/14/18:
Thursday was my total body day and I got it out of the way early because I had a million things on my to-do list. Made it to the nail salon and spent a few minutes in the massage chair though, so I call it a win!

Friday, 6/15/18:
Friday was cardio day, so I got it done early and then tried to enjoy the rest of the day. I watched movies, did a little bit of work, and waited for my husband to get home.
I also announced a *FREE* clean eating bootcamp. You can check out information on that here. If you’d like to join, I’d love to have ya!! ❤
Saturday, 6/16/18:
Saturday was another lower body day and it was a good one aside from the lunges. I think lunges–forward, reverse, side, all of them–are my least favorite exercise probably ever. But I’m learning how to use my heels to move it into my glutes instead of my quads. As much as I hate certain exercises, it’s interesting how the smallest tweaks can change them.
Question: What is your least favorite exercise (that you still choose to complete)?
