The first few weeks of pregnancy bring a lot of change, but these first trimester must-haves helped me get through it!
At the end of September, my husband and I found out we were expecting our first child. In December, as we entered the second trimester we announced it to the world! The time between September and December brought all of the fun first trimester things. I use that word somewhat loosely because I was plagued with exhaustion.
Needing to go to bed by 7:15 every night made it hard to get anything done around the house, meal planning and prepping went out the window, and my workouts were sparse. It took me some time to find my groove, but with the help of a few favorite things I finally did.
First Trimester Must-Haves
Breakfast Tea: A couple of weeks after the happy realization I realized that coffee sounded gross.š I love coffee and the ritual, so I was sad to let it go, but I replaced it with breakfast tea. Irish Breakfast and English Breakfast were my absolute favorites! I can stomach coffee a lot better now and opt for it every now and then, but I still reaching for tea more often than not!
Ginger Ale: Thankfully, I didn’t have too much morning sickness, but I did have a ton of queasiness. Most mornings I just had a constant stomach ache, so I sipped on ginger ale until it went away.
Studio Tone It Up:Ā WorkingĀ out was a struggle in the first trimester, but I tried my best. Planning went out the window because I felt different everyday. My Studio Tone It Up app was a lifesaver because if I woke up feeling like yoga when I’d planned for lower body, the option was there.
Pickles: I haven’t had any intense cravings, but I found myself eating more pickles than normal. I’ve always loved pickles, but it seemed like we went through a jar a week for a while! I also discovered I have a taste for olives. I’ve never liked olives and now…š¤·š»āāļø
