A couple of months ago, I shared my nightly skincare routine, and not much has changed since I posted it! Today, I’m sharing my easy daytime skincare routine that’s really changed the game for me. As someone who previously did nothing more than wash my face in the shower, it took me some time and intentional practice to add a few more steps.
ONE // Cleanse: Most days of the week, I workout first thing and then immediately shower. It makes the most sense to cleanse in the shower and right now I’m using Countermatch Refresh Foaming Cleanser. It’s great for dry skin and has been just what I need in the back and forth weather we’ve been having. I also love this cleanser for sensitive skin every now and then. A few days a week, or after a particularly sweaty workout, I will use a lightly scrubby cleanser for a little extra exfoliation. My husband uses and enjoys this too!
TWO // Prep: After a shower, I use the Countertime Mineral Boost Hydrating Essence to deliver a little bit more moisture to my skin and prep it for morning treatments. This is the same essence I use in my nighttime routine. One of these days I might add in a traditional toner, but right now I don’t feel like I need it.
THREE // Treat: I prefer simplicity (which is why I cleanse in the shower), so I don’t use a lot of serums at the moment. I use this Vitamin C serum to bring some brightness and balance to my skin. Right now, I don’t need more than that.
FOUR // Protect: Finally, I protect my skin with the last few steps. I use the Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream on my eyes, Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion all over, and my favorite sunscreen, specifically for the face, to finish everything off before makeup.
I follow these steps with my makeup for the day, which is usually pretty simple as well. At the end of the day, I go through my nighttime routine and do it all again! I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin since I incorporated a daytime skincare routine!
I admin a Facebook group, Beauty in the Balance, where we chat about these things regularly! I would love to see you join in the conversation there!
