Check out my goals for the month of August and see how I did on my goals for July!
July was kind of a six-one-way/half-a-dozen-the-other kind of month for my goals. In some areas I totally rocked it. In others, I didn’t do so hot. Hopefully the month of August will hold more success!
ONE // Stick to my training program
Grade: A
This was my number one goal, mostly because I was so excited to get started with training! While not every workout or every run was super amazing and fantastic, I absolutely stuck to the plan I created for myself. (Though I definitely made some tweaks, as I mentioned last week!)
See for yourself!
TWO // Put together my classroom
Grade: C
This did not get done until last week. But it really wasn’t my fault. I couldn’t get my keys until July 10th and I wanted to start that week… But at the time my room was being used as storage while they refurbished the other rooms in my building. So I waited patiently until I could get to work! And now… I’m on my last week of freedom. Dun-dun-duuuun!
THREE // Get a BUNCH of future blog posts scheduled
Grade: C
I didn’t do so great at this. I definitely stayed ahead of schedule, but I didn’t get as far ahead as I’d like to be.

FOUR // Enjoy vacation!
Grade: A
This wasn’t hard to do. Who doesn’t want to take advantage of a few days away? The hardest part was leaving Pippa for three days. You better believe I showed up first thing Monday morning to pick up my sweet smiling girl!
FIVE // Eat clean 90% of the time
Grade: C
Vacation and other things made this one difficult and I just wasn’t putting in as much effort as I should’ve been. I definitely could’ve been better.
All right, it’s time to move on to the here-and-now and see what’s in store for August!
ONE // Develop a school year blogging plan
As mentioned above, I didn’t get all of the future posts scheduled that I wanted to. Due to that, I need to develop an effective plan for the school year (or at least the first semester) that doesn’t have me completely abandoning my blog or my efforts to grow and expand. Abandonment doesn’t lead to growth — and honestly, I want this little baby to grow!
TWO // Stick to my training plan
Just expect this goal to show up every month until I return from the race. Just sayin’.šš»Ā This month will have its fair share of obstacles, but I have a goal to complete all of my training runs and as many strength workouts as I can!

THREE // Keep up with my water intake
Consuming an appropriate amount of water because extremely difficult once the school year starts up. I range from being so busy I forget to drink water to not wanting to drink too much so I don’t have to use the restroom every 20 minutes. It’s hard! But I get dehydrated very easily, so I know it’s something I need to work on.
FOUR // Get back into my school year routine {Sunday meal prep, extra early wake-up calls, prepping for the week}
My time to be lazy has come to an end. It’s time to back into the swing of regular life!
FIVE // Read another book
I’m currently finishing up Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. I tried to start The Exception, but I just couldn’t do it (if you recall my Summer Reading List!). The writing just wasn’t polished enough for me. Next up on my list is The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware.
Question: What goals are you setting for the month of August?
Deborah @ Confessions of a mother runner says
I always have a goal to get future blog posts up and it never happens! It is hard to keep up for sure.

It really is! I’m trying to be better. I don’t want to neglect my blog!

I try to write, or at least start my blog posts on Saturdays. It helps me save time during the week. If I don’t do that, I would never get any blog posts completed!!
Jessica says
That’s a good idea! I got a lot of writing done this past weekend. Hopefully I can keep up the momentum!
