These affordable natural skincare products will allow you to be mindful of potentially harmful ingredients without breaking the bank.
In the last few years, I’ve started to think more and more about the beauty products I use and their potential hazards. It’s possible that I’m a sucker for marketing, but I feel better reading over ingredient lists and finding words I can pronounce.
It can be very overwhelming to look at the products on your shelf and think about replacing them all. Instead of buying all-new-everything all at once, I’ve chosen to replace my old products with new ones as I run out. That way, I’m not spending tons of money, and I’m also not wasting money by throwing away a half empty bottle. Luckily, if you are one who chooses to exchange your products in one fell swoop there are completely affordable options that won’t leave you broke!

Best Affordable Natural Skincare Products
Each of the products on this is available just about anywhere you might shop — CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart, even Ulta. I like products that aren’t hard to find and don’t cost an arm and a leg! If I run out of something when I’m on the road or at the last minute, I don’t want to have to hunt it down or wait 10 days for shipping. Sending myself into debt finding them isn’t something I’m willing to do either. The regulations for beauty products can be a bit iffy (yes, even “natural” and “organic”), and these options aren’t 100% clean, but they’re cleanER.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream
I’m still working on developing my night time skincare routine, but I’ve been pleased with this moisturizer so far. I don’t care for a super heavy cream right before bed, so I love the lightness of this. It smells great too and is formulated with cotton extract, rice extract, and aloe. This isn’t an anti-aging cream, but it will quench your dry skin! I also love that Burt’s Bees tells you what percentage
Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub
My skin can become easily “over scrubbed”, so I usually alternate a scrubbing cleanser with a cream cleanser depending on the day or how my skin is feeling. The Neutrogena Naturals line was my first foray into more natural products, introduced to me by my mom! This product contains a natural salicylic acid from willowbark, making it suitable for acne prone skin!
Yes To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub
This product is my most recent purchase, but I really love all of the Yes To… products I’ve tried! Yes To Grapefruit is formulated to “correct and repair” and like any good scrub, this one sloughs off the dead yuck to leave you with brighter and clearer skin. Love it! Bonus: It smells amazing.

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes
I am a makeup remover wipes girl, all the way. I recently read on Stephanie’s blog that she removes her makeup with oil. While I love that idea, I keep forgetting to try it, so I’m still using these daily wipes! They do require a little bit of elbow grease, but I find the cucumber and sage to be relaxing. Bonus: We order these Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Cucumber and Sage through Amazon Prime Subscribe & Save, which saves us even more money, and I never have to remember to restock them!
I’ve been using this product for a few months now, and even mentioned it in my Spring Beauty Favorites post. A few years ago I learned (thanks to my husband, of all people) that the reason my skin was so oily is because I was constantly drying it out. After washing my face, I’d swipe over it with an alcohol based astringent, sucking the moisture out of my skin, causing it to produce more oil. I thought, “No way,” at first, but after some testing I realized he was right. I ditched my astringent and began to check labels for alcohol while trying to focus on more moisturizing formulas. This Burt’s Bees cream cleanser is some of the best I’ve found. I love the way it makes my skin feel!
Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Eye Cream
Again, this is not a formula designed specifically for anti-aging, but it does provide a great deal of moisture. I’m at an odd stage in which I don’t yet have wrinkles (knock on wood), but I know my skin isn’t as young as it once was. My main goal is to keep it nourished and properly moisturized and try to heed off little lines as long as possible. This eye cream helps me do that in a gentle way. If you’d like a little extra moisture for the sensitive eye area, I would recommend this product!
Most of us, most of the time, are just trying to do the best we can. Some of us have means to eat, wear, and use all organic, all the time. Others have to make small changes here and there, while some of us are only able to use specific products every now and then. I’ll be the first to admit that I certainly don’t know everything about natural and sustainable beauty and skincare, but I like to think I’m making a good start.

The Burt’s Bee’s line sounds really good. I haven’t tried any of their skin care, but I love their baby care products. I’m a big fan of Trader Joe’s products because they are usually the most reasonable priced and are a little cleaner, too!
