It’s time for a life update by way of what’s “currently” going on at the I Am Teacher Fit headquarters!

“Currently” is a monthly link-up in which Anne and her monthly co-host (this month it’s Lowanda) invite us all to share what we’ve been up to lately. Check out what I am celebrating, watching, welcoming, preparing, and photographing!
Celebrating… My nephew’s birthday (last week), my grandmother’s birthday (Monday), my grandmother in Heaven’s birthday (the 17th), and my best friend’s birthday (also the 17th). So many birthdays of people I love!
Watching… Real Housewives of (OC, New Jersey & Dallas). I know how trashy it is and my husband absolutely detests it, but I just can’t stop. I’ve watched OC for years, New Jersey since the beginning, and now Dallas because, duh, Texas. What’s your guilty pleasure television show?!

Welcoming… Fall and fall-like weather! I’ve enjoyed summer so much, but mine ended a month ago! It’s time for fall to make it’s appearance so I can pull out some fall decor and start baking all things pumpkin. However, it’s safe to say I’m probably not going to wait until September 22 to pull out the pumpkin. Pumpkin is a health food; I don’t even feel guilty.
Preparing… Lots of lessons and trying to get ahead at school. This year has been interesting in that I have a great deal of autonomy in what I teach. In the past, I’ve always been tied down to a pacing calendar and my teaching has been dictated by a test. The freedom is exhilarating, challenging, and anxiety-inducing.😜

Photographing… ALL.THE.RUNNING. Seriously, if you take a look at my Instagram, it’s mostly running and fitness. Lately, it’s heavy on the running with all of the half marathon training documentation I’ve been doing! My long run from this past weekend was kind of a bust, so be sure and come back on Sunday to see if I was able to battle my way back to victory!
Question: What are you “currently” up to this first Wednesday of September?
Sheila DelCharco says
Visiting from the Currently link up…my half-marathon training has been curtailed by hip pain! I’m not sure I’m going to be able to do it in October and I’m so sad! Good for you for getting all that mileage in! And yay for freedom in teaching! (That’s ONE of MANY reasons I chose to homeschool my children…ALL the FREEDOM!) Nice to meet you 🙂
Jessica says
Oh no! That is every runner’s biggest fear! I hope you get to run pain free soon. Thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂
Stephanie says
So glad it’s almost fall but I’ll let you keep all the pumpkin spice. I can do pumpkin seeds, that’s about it!
Jessica says
I will take all the pumpkin you don’t want! I’ve even been known to put it in chili, haha.

Found you from the currently link up! Good luck with your school year, my sister is a teacher, so LOVE ALL YOU TEACHER PEEPS! I also watch some of the RH shows, I know it’s bad, I know its trashy but sometimes I can’t help but get sucked it. I’m also bad because I read the blogs online too.
Jessica says
I read the blogs too! I’m not as religious about it as I used to be, but if I see one shared on social media, I’ll definitely click through and read it.
Anne says
Good for you on the running – it’s fun to see a training plan documented like this, and I love the head lamp 🙂 Here’s hoping you can move on and have an awesome next long run!
Jessica says
I feel like it’s definitely helping me stay accountable! The head lamp definitely comes in handy on those dark mornings! Thank you for stopping by. 🙂
Roseann Hampton says
I’m with you – time to pull out the pumpkin!
Jessica says
Bought two cans on my grocery trip this week! Pumpkin muffins, here I come!
Kim G says
I also watch the Real Housewives shows. I don’t watch them every week, but I love NYC and Atlanta.
I love Fall so I’m all about pumpkin everything, lol!
Jessica says
Pumpkin is a fall rite of passage! I don’t want to go without it!
Cara - Hanging Off The Edge says
Oh that “It’s cheaper than therapy” shirt, I need that! I haven’t been able to get out running this week, and I’m definitely much more on edge about everything in life!
Jessica says
I bought that shirt years ago and it’s been one of my favorites ever since!! It’s the truth, for sure!
ShootingStarsMag says
I am never going to be a runner, but I commend everyone that is! Good for you! 🙂
I have SO many birthdays this month too – including my nephew, who turns five!!!
