When things get busy during the school year, make sure you have these three things teachers can’t live without — either for you or your favorite teacher!
October is one of the busiest months of the school year! Curriculum is finally getting into a groove, Halloween candy is free flowing, and football Fridays are in full swing. All of that activity and busyness can leave teachers frazzled at the end of a long week.
This is definitely the case for me. Lately, I’ve been feeling so busy that moments to myself are few and far between. When I do get those moments of “me time” — or even just “grading time” — I like to make sure I have a few of my favorite things nearby. If, like me, you find yourself (or your favorite teacher!) scrambling for a bit of breathing room in the month of October, make sure you’ve got these three things in your bag of tricks!
3 Things Teachers Can’t Live Without During the School Year
ONE // Coffee & Cute Coffee Mugs
This one is at the top of my list regardless of how busy the school year is! I even love my coffee in the summer when it’s sure to be 97 degrees outside. I make sure to cool it with the caffeine by about 10 a.m. (otherwise I don’t sleep well), but I drink at least one cup at home each morning and another on the way out the door. Lately, my husband and I have been loving Peet’s Coffee and I can’t think of a more perfect mug to pour it up in and start the day!

TWO // Dry Shampoo
I truly think dry shampoo is something I can’t live without. It took me years to jump on the dry shampoo train and really “figure out” second day hair. (Check out my second day hair tutorial here!) Now that I have, it’s one of the greatest tools in my arsenal that I whip out at least twice a week. I’ve tried many, many different types of dry shampoo, and honestly my favorite has been the cheapest I’ve tried. Not Your Mother’s Plump for Joy (I get mine at Target) is worth every bit of the $4.49 it costs!

THREE // Flair Pens
You know how I mentioned that “me time” is sometimes just “grading time”? I like to sit down and deplete my DVR as I grade and these PaperMate Flair pens make it a little more enjoyable. I’ve gushed about them before, but they really are the best pens! They’re the perfect combination of pen and marker. I use them to grade all of my papers and even to write in my planner each week.
Question: What three things can’t you live without when school is in session?

I don’t drink coffee so I don’t need mugs but I will agree with the dry shampoo! Love that stuff!

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to come round to the dry shampoo thing! But those Flair Pens, yes please! I’ve been looking for a good recommendation for medium felt-tip markers. I can see those tropical colours bringing a whole new level of enjoyment to writing down my daily and weekly goals 🙂

I finally got on the dry shampoo train and oh man… The. Best.

I must need to be a teacher, then, because these are all on my MUST NEED list as well! Esp the dry shampoo. That’s my favorite brand!

This was a cute post! I need all of the things and I’m not even a teacher 😉
