Week 18 of my Wine & Dine Half Marathon Training is complete! Check out the lessons I learned this week and how I’m moving forward.
Today, I’m running the RunDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon! Hopefully, by the time you’re reading this, I’m long since done and have already stuffed my face with Via Napoli pizza (and probably guzzled down a Coke #dontjudgeme). The race review and recap, as well as an overall trip report, will come soon! For now, take a look back at how this week went in regard to workouts, running, and race prep.
Sunday, 10/29/17:
My first race week workout was Jillian Michaels Yoga Inferno. I’ve had this DVD for a long time, but don’t use it very often. It’s essentially dynamic yoga with cardio bursts mixed in. We had a lot going on Sunday, so I didn’t work out until after lunch and I was slow and sluggish. But the stretching sure felt good!
Monday morning I fit in my final run of October in the form of about 20 minutes of sprints. Afterwards, I did a total body pull workout. My hammies were feeling it by the end of the day. Darn those good mornings.

Tuesday, 10/31/17:
Happy Halloween! Waking up Tuesday morning was difficult, but after I got moving I was glad I did. I did some body weight cardio and extra core work using the Jillian Michaels app. I think Pippa could tell that this week was different than usual. She stuck like glue to me throughout the entire workout when usually she just goes potty and then goes back into the bedroom to go to sleep. Sweet baby!
Wednesday, 11/1/17:
Wednesday’s workout was about 1.5 miles of hills and some strength work. My last strength workout before the race!
Thursday, 11/2/17:
Fly out day! We were out the door not so bright, but early for our 8 a.m. flight. My workout for the day consisted of a lot of airport walking, Disney Magical Express boarding, and Epcot gazing.

Friday, 11/3/17:
Friday morning, I headed out for a 3 miler on resort grounds. I loved getting to run through our resort and the neighboring property. We also headed over to the expo Friday morning to pick up all my goodies. Surprisingly, it didn’t take too long. The expo opened at 10 and we were outta there before 11! After that, we headed to Magic Kingdom where we spent the rest of the day.
Saturday, 11/4/17:
Rest day! I started my day of carb loading with a buffet breakfast at Boma in Animal Kingdom Lodge. We did Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios during the day and then had dinner at Flying Fish before heading back to the room for an early night.
Week 18 Miles: 6.5
Total Miles: 237.75
If you missed anything on the blog last week, you can get caught up now. Monday, I shared my race day goals. Wednesday was a life-catch-up-day with the November edition of “Currently“, and Friday, I wrapped the week up with an October running survey!

NO racing today, but I had a 10K yesterday. Definitely not a PR (like by at least 4-minutes LOL), but it did snag me 3rd place AG honors 😉 Hope your race went well!

Sounds like a good week of workouts leading up to your race. Hope you had a great race! I would love to do a Disney Race someday.

I like your Halloween Costume. And that is the perfect shirt to wear to a race weekend at Disney! I didn’t know Jillian Michaels had a yoga dvd. I always thought she was hard core, so maybe I would like this one!
