Today is my Pippa Girl’s birthday! Well, it’s what I have decided is her birthday. When she came to live with me in June of 2011, she was estimated to be about six months old, so I’ve celebrated her birthday on December 1 ever since. Happy 7th birthday, Pippa Faith!
Moving on to other things… Today is December 1, which means it’s time to look back at last month’s goals and look forward at the month ahead.

ONE // Have a successful race
Grade: B
After having some time to look back at my performance, I’m pretty happy with how things went. No, it wasn’t the amazing magical day I thought it would be. It was hard and running in 99 percent humidity almost killed me. But I finished and I’m proud of myself. You can see my Wine & Dine Half Marathon Race Recap + Review here.
TWO // Keep up with my school year blogging plan
Grade: C (for like the third month in a row)
Maybe it’s time to come up with a new plan… Yes, I think it may be.
THREE // Determine a new fitness regimen
Grade: D
I thought long and hard about the direction I wanted to go with my fitness goals after my race. I didn’t get too far. I did jump into the #LGFitmas Challenge almost by default, though I am enjoying it. There is a local race in March and I still haven’t decided if I want to do the 10K or the half.
FOUR // Start planning Christmas gifts/expenses
Grade: F
Until Thanksgiving day, my family didn’t know for sure what they were even doing for Christmas, so no planning took place. Now that names have been drawn and plans have been made, I can start the planning on my end!
FIVE // Complete my lesson plans and prep before leaving school on Fridays
Grade: B+
Considering I was on vacation for four days and then slammed by the craziness of an approaching holiday, I did a pretty good job at this. I will be trying to keep that up through December 15 (our last school day of 2017).

ONE // Reign in my nutrition and focus on water intake
I don’t feel guilty for my holiday indulgences, but I still want to take care of myself in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
TWO // Determine a new fitness regimen
I like having the structure of a plan or a goal to work towards. I need to take the time this month to define some new goals and devise a plan to work toward them.
THREE // Get ahead on some 2018 blogging during Christmas break
I have two weeks off at the end of the month, so I’ll have time to get ahead. Last year, before I headed back to school, I had almost every bit of January written and scheduled, so I know it’s possible.

FOUR // ENJOY my birthday month/Christmas/end of 2017
Yes, December is my birthday month. I’m 29 on the 31st! With as much holiday hustle as there is throughout the month, I want to be intentional about slowing down and enjoying everything going on.
Question: What goals are you setting for the month of December?
I’m linking up with Crystal for Tuesday Talk. I’m also linking up with Annmarie and Nicole for Wild Workout Wednesday!

I’m looking to improve my nutrition and water intake this month too…the holiday food can definitely get a little out of control!
Getting ahead on 2018 blogging is a great idea! I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve been really strategic about blogging…sigh!

Happy birthday month! My biggest goal for December is to work on speed training for my next race.
