Hello again beautiful friends! Here we are staring into the face of another Sunday. I hope you’re ready to tackle the week ahead as opposed to facing the Sunday Scaries. 🙂 Honestly, I’m somewhere in between, and tend to stay that way, but I always love the beauty and newness a fresh week brings. As usual, I’m looking back on the week past and sharing my activity with you. Let’s get to it!
Sunday, 4/15/18:
Sunday was a serious workout day. I did a combination leg and cardio day and was TOAST by the end! I increased my weights on almost every exercise and I was shaking for almost the entire afternoon, ha! It’s been a while since I’ve challenged myself with a heavy lower body workout, so I felt accomplished having done it.
Monday, 4/16/18:
AM: In the morning, I hit total body. It was the type of workout I love to hate. 3×15 mini circuits that had me begging for each round to end! It was very core-centric, which I loved, but I could feel it all over. Especially in my legs, thanks to leg day on Sunday.
PM: I went back and forth throughout the day deciding whether or not to run in the afternoon. It was 89 degrees, so I’d decided against it on my way home. Then I walked in and was reminded that contractors were in the house, so running on the treadmill would’ve been awkward. They also had the gates open, which meant Pippa couldn’t go outside. So for that reason, I leashed her up and we went out for three slow miles.

Tuesday, 4/17/18:
Tuesday was booty day — no weights, all bands, but good gosh my lower body was on fire! I know I say this every time I use the bands, but I’m always surprised how great of a workout I can get from them.
Wednesday, 4/18/18:
Wednesday was a cardio/core day that again called for the sliders! I had planned an afternoon run, but for the second week in a row, it didn’t happen. I sat in the drive thru at Walgreens after school for 30 minutes, it was HOT, and the wind has been blowing so much I feel like I’m left with a constant allergy headache. Excuses, I know. But I’m realizing that if I want to fit my runs in, I’m not going to be able to wait until the afternoons because they proooobably won’t happen. Good thing I’m not training for anything right now.
Thursday, 4/19/18:
Rest day.

Friday, 4/20/18:
Leg day! It was very similar to Sunday’s workout. I don’t know why, but I’m always surprised by how much of a cardio effect heavy workouts have. My heart rate was SKY HIGH and I burned almost 400 calories by the end–just from lifting weights.
Saturday, 4/21/18:
I woke up early, about 5 a.m., and couldn’t get back to sleep. We had plans to leave town for the day, so I decided to just get up and get moving. I did a 30-minute cardio workout that I’ve done before, but some reason it felt so hard! I’m guessing that was probably due to soreness from leg day, as well as just being tired. Regardless, I was pumped to get it out of the way so I could enjoy myself as the day went on.
That about sums up this week! How was yours? Tell me ALL about it down below. If you missed anything on the Teacher Fit blog, please feel free to catch yourself up! There’s a $700 PayPal Cash Giveaway going on right now that you do NOT want to miss. I also shared a quick core workout and good ole fashioned Friday Favorites post.
Question: What was your favorite workout of the last week?
I’m linking up with Holly and Wendy for Weekly Wrap!

Those resistance bands are always great for feeling the burn. My fave workout of the week was my 5K with my son

You should post the details of your workout with the resistance bands. I have bands, but every time I’ve tried to use them they upset my hip flexor. 🙁 It will soon be too hot here to run in the afternoons…just when I was getting used to it. Thanks for linking!
Wendy says
My coach had me do sidesteps with the resistance bands—oh the burn! But that wasn’t my favorite workout. My favorite was my race yesterday! Thanks for linking up! Have a great week.
Lesley says
I did one exercise yesterday with a resistance band, and I have felt spots in my booty all day. They’re simple exercises but really make you feel it.

I have resistance bands but haven’t found a workout that I love with them yet. If you’ve shared one, I’d love to try it!
My favorite workout was probably the bootcamp I went to with my oldest stepdaughter – it was tough, but that’s how we like it!

I’d like to hear more about the workouts with the exercise bands, too. I’m always looking for new moves! My favorite workout was actually my 13.1 this morning…and certainly NOT because it was easy.It was a hilly route, and my body (and mind) was toast, but I was very happy to see how strong my endurance was when it carried me to the finish line.

I’ll second the other commenters curious about your and workouts! Looks like you had a great week. My favorite workout last week was, surprisingly, a tempo run that just felt perfect.
Sarah @ merrillthon says
Ahem, *band workouts 🙂

I love resistance bands! I definitely need to work out with them more because they definitely help me feel the burn.
Sara says
Great job with your workouts! I need to find some good sliders. I’m always amazed how some workouts/workout equipment doesn’t look like it would be hard….until you get started. I went to a barre class one time. The movements are so small but I couldn’t do half of them!
Jessie says
What a great week! Those resistance bands can be killer.
I’m recovering from a broken leg, so no runs for me 🙁 But I’ve enjoyed yoga, swimming, and a pilates type class. Can’t wait till I can run again! that will definitely be my favorite, when it finally happens.

I need to use my bands more often! Sounds like you had a great week. I learned long ago that moving my runs to after work usually means I do not get them in. LOL
