Today, I’m recapping last week’s workouts. Join in as I share my lessons learned and how I’m moving forward. Tell me about your active week in the comments!
Happy Sunday, everyone! Nothing terribly exciting happened this week, except that I finished the first phase of my new training program. The rest of the week was uneventful, yet exhausting. My students were testing all week and that always a different kind of stress, so I was TIRED this week. I’m hoping next week is much more “chill” if you know what I mean. But that remains to be seen, so I’m recapping my week in workouts as I always do. Tell me all about yours in the comments!
Sunday, 04/22/18:
Sunday was my AAA day (arms, abs, and @$$). I’m proud to say I’m increasing my weights in almost every exercise and did like 27 push-ups on my toes. Yahoo! I’ll take the strength gains any day.
Monday, 04/23/18:
I enjoy starting the week with total body, so that’s exactly what I did. Total body core was up in my program and I was so glad to be done with it by the time it was over. It featured a renegade row to side plank with the resistance band that was not my favorite exercise. I dreaded it every time. But joining in on a conference call of so many ladies doing the same thing made it a lot better!
Monday was also my and my husband’s two-year anniversary. 🙂 I spent the whole day with a sweet smile on my face and when I got home learned he’d planned a grilled salmon and veggie dinner with some gourmet chocolate for dessert. Wonderful, wonderful day! <3

Lower body with nothing but the bands (again)! I heard you guys last week and I will definitely work on putting together a workout that utilizes the mini resistance bands! I use mine so regularly that I’m going to need to replace them soon. At first glance they seem like a strange tool, but when you figure out how to make them work for you, the advantages are endless!

I knew Tuesday afternoon that I would need some extra sleep, so I snoozed my alarm Wednesday morning. I didn’t want to let myself slack off completely, so I worked out after work. It was a cardio day and after less than 40 minutes I was done and the universe was in balance again.
Thursday, 04/26/18:
Rest day.

Leg day! And holy macaroni it burned. This workout was just as difficult for me as it was the first time I did it. But I have been consistently challenging myself to increase the weight I’m using, so that had much to do with it. I have a love-hate relationship with leg day. I understand that it’s necessary and requires heavy weights to really see results… But gosh, I’m miserable when I’m in the thick of it!

Body weight cardio in my happy place! Yes, my happy place is my boring workout room that doubles as an office, triples as Pippa’s room, and quadruples as an extra storage center for all our junk. It may not be ideal, but it works!
That was my week! Unfortunately, there was no running, which made me sad, but something’s gotta give. This program is taking a lot out of me and until I have a little bit more free time, I’m afraid running will take a backseat. I’ve never been “just” a runner and I know my fitness goes in phases. The urge and the need will return soon enough!
P.S. If you haven’t entered the $700 PayPal Cash Giveaway, what are you waiting for?! No worries, you can do so riiiight here. We could all use an extra $700, right?

Happy Anniversary!!! Did you think the second year was easier? My husband and I have been married for almost 30 years and man, have we had our ups and downs. More ups, obviously but sometimes it’s hard to weather the storms.
Nice week of workouts! Thanks for linking up.

Great job with your workouts!! How do you feel now that you are on the other side of phase 1?
I’m impressed with all of your pushups. I need to focus on my upper body strength for sure!

Happy anniversary! Sounds like quite a busy week, and lots of strength training. I have a spare bedroom that was going to be the office, but it’s more a yoga room now.

Happy anniversary! How sweet of your husband to plan such a tasty meal to celebrate. Congrats on finishing Phase 1, too. Sounds like some killer workouts. My happy place is anywhere the sun is shining. 🙂

Happy Anniversary. It was so sweet of your husband to have a nice meal planned for you. Did he give you that pink tank top? I love it! LOL. My happy place is on the water, preferably on a water ski. And I can’t wait because it’s almost time!! Thanks for linking.
