Today, I’m recapping last week’s workouts and sharing my goals for the month of May!
Happy Sunday, everyone! I don’t know about you, but I can feel summer inching closer and closer… And I kind of love it! With only 14 school days left I can feel my brain checking out. I need to rein that in though, because we still have so much to do! 😉 Can you relate? Anyway, it was a wild week with much going on, so I’m here to recap it and share my May goals!
Sunday, 4/29/18:
Arms, abs, and @$$ day again! And it was officially the final workout of phase one of my program. It was a tough one, but it was a good one. Between all the planks, upright rows, and curls, my arms were fatigued, so I did most of the pushups on my knees whereas last week I did them ALL on my toes. But, you win some, you lose some, I guess!
Monday, 4/30/18:
I officially began a new phase of my workout program and it started with a serious booty workout. In the last phase, only the bands were utilized, but this phase features the addition of weights. After two circuits of 15 reps for each exercise I was feeling it! I’m looking forward to hitting this one again tomorrow and increasing my weights!

Tuesday, 5/1/18:
Tuesday was a cardio and core day. I always love cardio days. I know that’s an unpopular opinion, but the other runners out there probably empathize with me. 🙂
That morning I had to drop sweet Pippa off with the vet to be checked out, so I made a mad dash after work to snatch her up. She was so excited to get to go home! She won’t be happy when I tell her we have to go back in a week…
Wednesday, 5/2/18:
Total body day for this phase falls on Wednesday and unfortunately I still don’t like it much.😂I think that’s most to do with the fact that I struggle with coordination (and balance at 4:30am), especially when trying something new. I’m hoping that I’ll feel more comfortable when I hit this one again later this week.
Thursday, 5/3/18:
Rest day.

Friday, 5/4/18:
Happy Star Wars Day! I couldn’t resist putting my bitmoji in galaxy garb so she could wield a lightsaber. Before that, though, I got in leg day with weights and sliders. Ayayay, talk about a different kind of burn. I could feel it everywhere–hams, glutes, quads–and was sore by the end of the day.
Saturday, 5/5/18:
My workout week wrapped up with another AAA day! This workout really focuses on eccentric and concentric muscle contractions and always leaves me feeling like I got in a great workout even though my heart rate isn’t through the roof.

Ok, goals. Here we go. April was such a whirlwind that I don’t even remember setting goals… But evidently I did. And I didn’t do so well with them! Here’s to May being better.
ONE // I will catch up on grading at school.
Admittedly, I don’t really have much of a choice as far as this one goes. Because it’s the last trimester, I HAVE to get my grades in, ha. But setting it as a goal will encourage me to get it done sooner, rather than later.
TWO // I will follow a home maintenance calendar throughout the week to maintain cleaning responsibilities.
I was doing pretty good with this for a while, and then life happened. We’ve had contractors at our house for a few weeks, so despite best efforts, there’s a layer of dust on everything within a few minutes. Now that they’re done, I want to get things back in order!
Before I go, I wanted to share something with you guys! Last week, I launched a new Facebook community, Fit To Do Life, that I want to use as a place to connect and grow! My goal is for this community to be a place women on any part of a health journey can come for support, encouragement, and accountability. If this sounds like something you would enjoy and benefit from, please join us! The more the merrier. 🙂

Looks like a good week for you! Do you have any races or anything coming up? Starting that community sounds like a great way to stay accountable.

I love cardio too! Even on days I lift I still try to do some type of cardio that day as well. I can’t believe the first week of May is already over.

Wow only 14 days left of school we still have over a month. Good Luck on your goals!

Any major events coming up? Oh yes, the youngest’s HS graduation, and I am full-on party-prepping mode LOL
I’m totally with you on the coordination thing, no matter how awake or alert I am LOL

Wow only 14 more days of school for you?! That’s awesome. I don’t know who looks forward to summer break more – the students or the teachers!
Lesley says
Have you posted what your AAA workout consists of? I’m always looking for new things to do.

Your Pippa looks so sweet and reminds me of my Mini. I hope her visit went well! I don’t use FB, but the community you created sounds like a great resource. I don’t have any major events this week and hope it remains a quiet week. Good luck as your wind down the school year. Thanks for linking!

Pippa is so cute! Hope she’s ok.
Great job with your workouts! This week, my whirlwind schedule continues with client meetings, dinners, and a shift at the gym…no rest for the weary!
