Oh! Hello there! How are you? Remember me? It seems that I’ve taken a bit of a blogging break, and now, here I am showing up on a holiday. August was a nutzo month for my little family. We attended a wedding in Houston, I went back to work (and then had a car accident😐), my husband began a new job, and we’ve just been about as busy as we can manage.
Nevertheless, I’ve been trying to keep up a healthy routine. I’ve been taking it somewhat easy for the most part, especially since my car accident. Thanks to a burn from the airbag, I haven’t had full range of motion of my left wrist. In the last week or so, it’s gotten much better and is almost healed. I’m ready to jump back in to my more intense workouts! Here’s a peek back at what I managed last week. Share yours in the comments!
Sunday, 8/26/18:
I love yoga on Sundays and last week was no exception. I found a flow on Studio Tone It Up and jumped right in. I feel it all over when I go without yoga for a time and always feel better when I’m practicing regularly. Limitations with my wrist have made certain poses difficult, but as the days have gone by I’ve noticed my mobility returning. So glad!
Monday, 8/27/18:
Monday was a body weight cardio day and I followed it with a bit of extra core work. I haven’t been running lately and I miss it. I love HIIT style workouts, but I’m a runner at heart and I’m trying to get back to it this week!
Tuesday, 8/28/18:
On Tuesday, I hit total body with a bit of focused bicep work. I’ve been working through a study on the book of Esther and this Proverbs 31 verse was included for the day’s reading. I thought it was fitting considering!
Wednesday, 8/29/19:
Another total body day on Wednesday with a good bit of glute activation leading into my workout! I love total body workouts, but sometimes that “mind-body connection” thing is hard for me, so I really benefit from body-part-specific exercises.

Thursday, 8/30/18:
Since I’m back in school, I’m taking Thursday as a rest day! It’s nice to be able to sleep in a bit and be refreshed for a Friday morning workout.
Friday, 8/31/18:
Friday, I woke up craving a focused, lower body workout, so that’s exactly what I did. Squats, deadlifts, sumos, and then some — 30 minutes and I was done!

Saturday, 8/1/18:
Husband and I enjoyed Saturday #1 slowly and intentionally. I got in a very quick upper body/core workout, we started the new season of Ozark, and I made some banana bread! We grilled out and just enjoyed the day together. He had been traveling for work a few days before and it was nice to reconnect!
Now that I’m getting back into the swing of school and things are beginning to settle, I’m hoping to find my groove with blogging again. We’ll see!😜 How was your week? Tell me all about it!

Finding a routine during back-to-school season is tough! Especially when it comes to workouts.
Glad it was just a wrist issue after the air bag…I had one burn my chin once. No one ever really tells you that can happen!
