Today, I’m sharing what’s “currently” going on at the I Am Teacher Fit headquarters for the month of April 2018!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great. Can you believe it’s already APRIL? I cannot, but here we are. April is typically a busy month for us. There are LOTS of birthdays, our anniversary, and school gets crazy. But right now, I’m slowing all that down and filling you all in on life lately. Today, I’m co-hosting the “Currently” link-up with Anne! We’re talking all about what we’re showering, cultivating, expecting, buying, and cooking on this first Wednesday of April. Please join us!

SHOWERING // My trash can with all the leftover Easter candy. I had a great Easter weekend with my cousin in Houston and then with family on Sunday, but my nutrition was lackluster! This week I’ve really enjoyed getting back on track through proper hydration, logging my food, and getting in those micronutrients. I’m very much a “live in the moment” type of person when it comes to food and experiences (probably not the best practice), but I can’t deny how much BETTER I feel when my nutrition and hydration is on point.

CULTIVATING // My expertise with the 80 Day Obsession program. I joined a challenge group with some other ladies on Facebook and this is our first week of the 80DO workouts! It’s a core and glute focused program, so I’m hoping that combination equates to faster paces when I’m running! Those of you who are almost through the 80 days, what are your thoughts on the program? I’d love to hear them!

EXPECTING // The next few weeks to be ridiculously busy. There are about eight weeks until summer break with no days off left. I just have the feeling that things are about to get CRAZY.
BUYING // Chicharones! In case you’re unfamiliar with chicharones, they are basically salted pork skins that have been fried until super crispy and crunchy. To most they probably sound gross, but this Texas girl has been eating them her entire life. They’re so good! Anyway, I found some simple ones (pork skins and salt ONLY) at HEB the other day and I can’t stop eating them. So I bought some more.

COOKING // Quite literally, as I type this, I’m cooking some baby back ribs in the oven! The recipe is from the Fed & Fit book. Most of the time, cooking pork scares me, but this recipe is super easy — season the ribs, throw them in the oven, done! My husband and I love the recipes in this book. There are so many that we keep in our regular rotation!
Question: What are you “currently” up to on this first Wednesday of April?

I am so with you on the Easter candy. We had so much gifted to my children that I loaded almost all of it up in a box and sent it to work with my husband. If it’s in the house, I will eat it! I am trying to cultivate less of a sweet tooth! 😉
I live for pork skins, girl! (I’m in NC so it’s a southern thing I imagine!) That 80 day sounds great – I am starting Les Mills CX Works at the end of April to add in with Combat and Metabolic. I’m so looking forward to it. But I’m curious about the 80 day now! That cookbook – I think I need it! Have a great Wednesday – I will be in the orthodontist office with my 10 year old and maybe hitting up the mall *shhhh!
I have never heard of chicharrones before but they sound interesting! I know a few people on Instagram who are doing 80 Day Obsession, but a Facebook group sounds like a great way to stay motivated.

Ooh yum, I love ribs, but I’m always kind of intimidated by making them myself. Or I just let my husband make them on his smoker 🙂 I love your “showering” response and I have to admit that I’m doing the same thing. That Easter candy is killer!
I’m going through 80DO now too. I’m only on day 17 today, but I am loving it. Are you doing the timed nutrition as you go through?
Oooh, those ribs sound pretty amazing – and like something I could actually handle tackling. Wouldn’t my hubby be pleased 🙂 And in the past I have been so bad about doing anything besides running to work on my running – I’ve been working on some other types of strengthening and flexibility though, so we’ll see how that pays off. Curious to hear about how that program works for you!
Thanks again for co-hosting today!
Oh i Hear ya on the Easter candy, if there is chocolate in the house, I want to eat all of it! I can’t believe the school year is almost done, summer break will be here before we know it!
I’m trying to avoid the candy – for the most part. However, I still really need to get better with cooking more and finding healthier recipes! I also want to get moving more often. Sigh. Now if only the weather would cooperate. I hope you have a great April!

I’m trying to get into 80 Day Obsession but I’ll have to do a restart because of kitchen construction last week had me working on other things instead of working out. I think it’s going to be great but 80 days is a long time.
We are about to be super busy too. Good job at throwing out the Easter candy!
Our anniversary is in April too! I didn’t buy any Easter candy this year. I thought about getting the mini Cadbury eggs but I knew I’d want to eat the whole bag. haha.
We celebrated Easter in different state with my in-laws so there was a limited amount of Easter candy that we brought back. It’s much nicer that way! I feel much better when I am eating healthier and drinking tons of water too!
Those are some really cute leggings, hopefully they’ve made it that much easier to stick to the challenge you joined!
Those leggings are fantastic!
I bought one bag of clearance M&Ms yesterday and a student gave me some Peeps this past week. Oh and I caved and bought some jelly beans last week. But no kids’ Easter baskets to fill means I’m not tempted by the candy lol. I’ve also been known to thrown candy away just so I don’t see it.
