Happy Monday morning! I hope everyone enjoyed a great Easter with family and if you have today off — even better! I do and I’m taking complete advantage of it. After today, there are no more days off until the end of the school year (first world problems), so things are about to crazy busy! I did my best to stay active last week, but I’m looking forward to starting something new in my fitness routine. What kept you moving this week?
Sunday, 3/25/18:
I woke up much more sore from the previous day’s race than I expected to be! Funny how that happens. 🙂 The extent of my activity for the day was a short yoga flow, 15 minutes of foam rolling, and a walk through Lowe’s on the hunt for a doorknob.
Monday, 3/26/18:
Good Monday morning! Definitely still in recovery mode, I did my favorite core workout (Tight + Toned Core on the Studio Tone It Up app) and some body weight cardio. I rested more than prescribed, modified quite a bit, and just listened to my body. Still got a great sweat going, but did not push myself too hard.
Tuesday, 3/27/18:
It was so hard to get up Tuesday morning.😩 But I did it anyway! I sandwiched a bit of yoga and abs between some strength circuits and was a sweaty mess by the end.
Wednesday, 3/28/18:
On Wednesday, I git a total body circuit with and emphasis on lower body. I was feeling like I’d been neglecting my glutes this week, so I paid just a bit more attention to them!
Thursday, 3/29/18:
Thursday was another total body day with a quick barre-style workout followed by a cardio yoga flow. I typically rest on Thursdays, so waking up was difficult! That made the more gentle workout perfect for the early morning.
Thursday evening, I hopped on a plane and headed for Houston to go wedding dress shopping with my cousin!
Friday, 3/30/18:
Friday was an active rest day spent roaming all over Houston with my cousin and aunt.
Saturday, 3/31/18:
Early Saturday morning, I boarded a plane to head back home. Hubby picked me up from the airport around 10 a.m. I unpacked and repacked my bag, and shortly after we headed “home home” (to Small Town USA) for the Easter holiday! Somehow I squeezed in 30 minutes of cardio somewhere in there. It felt good to move!

Since today is the first post for April, I’m also setting some goals. Here we go!
ONE // I will continue tracking my food five days a week.
After my last half marathon, I went through some post-race blues and gained a little bit of weight. Keeping an eye on my caloric intake will help with that.
TWO // I will get 10,000 steps six days a week.
I set this goal for the month of March, but I didn’t do so great. So I’m shooting for it again! As long as I don’t melt myself into my chair during my planning periods, I should have no problem hitting that goal.
Don’t forget to link up with me and Anne on Wednesday to share with us what you’re currently showering, cultivating, expecting, buying, and cooking!
