Good morning and happy Sunday! I hope you had a wonderful week. Today, I’m sharing a week’s worth of workout recaps, as I do each week. Hang out for a minute, and let me know all about your week in the comments. XOX
Sunday, 4/1/18:
Happy Easter!🐰 After church with my dad, my husband and I headed home early to decompress before starting the week. I got in a total body core workout that had me shaking and sweating. We crashed so early because I was still recovering from my whirlwind trip to Houston.
Monday, 4/2/18:
I had the day off Monday and grand plans to be ridiculously productive. That changed after getting started later than intended and heading out for my first run of April. I took Pippa with me, as I often do, and everything was fine until about two miles in. Pippa caught sight of a squirrel I never saw and took off from me in a dead sprint. The sidewalk was wet and I couldn’t get traction to stop… Before I knew it, the back of my hand had smacked into the post of a street sign. OUCH!
I called my husband and whined for a minute before finishing our last mile. It didn’t hurt too bad, so I just sucked it up and kept moving. After getting back to the house, I moved on to a lower body workout and completed it with no problems, but my productivity for the day was more or less shot.

Tuesday, 4/3/18:
My regular 4:20 alarm was THE WORST, but such is life. I crushed a core focused cardio workout and then set out to get the work week started! My motivation drained pretty quickly because I felt like I was running behind for the rest of the day.
Wednesday, 4/4/18:
Wednesday was harder to wake up for than Tuesday was, but I knowing I had a rest day coming up, I powered through.
Thursday, 4/5/18:
Rest day!

Friday, 4/6/18:
Friday was leg day, and the first “serious” leg day I’ve done in a while. I mentioned last week that I started 80 Day Obsession, which is extremely focused on core and lower body strength. It was no joke. The unilateral moves featured 15 reps on each leg, so my glutes, hamstrings, and quads took a beating. I was sore before I went to bed that night.
Saturday, 4/7/18:
I had a run planned for Saturday, but since this was the first weekend in a while that I didn’t have anything definite planned, I took complete advantage. I slept in, laid in bed for 45 minutes after waking up, then cuddled up on the couch in PJs to drink two cups of coffee. Suddenly, it was 11 a.m. and I hadn’t budged. Between dwindling motivation and the below 40 temps, I didn’t feel like running. I settled for a 30-minute body weight cardio. It definitely tested my endurance, so I didn’t feel like the workout was a waste.

Ouch! I’ve gotten brush burns on my hands before from dogs pulling on the leash so I can definitely understand how smacking it on that side while trying to hold on to the leash would hurt! -M

Ouch to your hand!! I’ve had a few mornings where I’ve wanted to just lay in bed but guilt always takes over.

I don’t wake up at 4:20 very often (unless it’s one of my #5at5 mornings), so I’d be tempted to snooze a bit, too. Ouch to the hand! You’re lucky you didn’t fracture a bone.

Ouch! I hope that you hand it feeling better.
You’re an all-star for waking up so early during the week to get in your workouts!

It’s amazing that you can wake up that early to get your workouts in. I only wake up that early during marathon training and then it’s only once a week to get in a midweek longer run. Your hand looks painful. I’m glad it wasn’t hurt any worse though. I’m afraid to take our new old adopted dog out. I wouldn’t be able to handle him he he wanted to take off after something.
